Here is what Eckhart Tolle says about what he terms "Frequency Holders."
“Others, after the natural expansion that comes with growing up has run its course, lead an outwardly unremarkable, seemingly more passive and relatively uneventful existence. They are more inward looking by nature, and for them the outward movement into form is minimal. They would rather return home than go out.
“Some of them find it hard to fit into this world. Some are lucky enough to find a protective niche where they can lead a relatively sheltered life, a job that provides them with a regular income or a small business of their own.
"In past ages, they would probably have been called contemplatives. There is no place for them, it seems, in our contemporary civilization. On the arising new earth, however, their role is just as vital as that of the creators, the doers, the reformers. Their function is to anchor the frequency of the new consciousness on the planet. I call them frequency-holders. They are here to generate consciousness through the activities of daily life, through their interactions as well as through 'just being.'
“In this way, they endow the seemingly insignificant with profound meaning. Their task is to bring spacious stillness into this world by being absolutely present in whatever they do. There is consciousness and therefore quality in what they do, even the simplest task. Their purpose is to do everything in a sacred manner. As each human being is an integral part of the collective human consciousness, they affect the world much more deeply than is visible on the surface of their lives."
Eckhard Tolle - "A New Earth"
How many of us fall into the category of a "frequency holder?" :-)

Re: About "Frequency Holders"
Thu, June 12, 2008 - 8:42 AMI resonated with this passage when I read it. I have been actively seeking my "place" and role in the Awakening for decades now, but none of this seeking seems to lead to outlets/passions that contribute to the outer world in such a way that other's exchange money for it. I just keep going inward. What about those of us not "lucky enough" to have found a protective niche? -

Re: About "Frequency Holders"
Thu, June 12, 2008 - 4:24 PMI can relate to what you are saying. I've left the corporate world to make awakening my primary purpose and how to survive in this society rapidly became the main obstacle or so it seemed. Tolle also points out in the section on Abundance in A New Earth that right now in this moment we already have everything we need because if we are fully present we are in touch with the power of the unmanifest. Besides working on being fully present I think we also need to realize that we don't need to look for what we need but rather we need to learn to create it, to bring consciousness into material form based on our intentions. Tolle says to practice giving whatever it is we think we need or lack. This is in keeping with Buddhism where it is said the cause of wealth is giving. What easily short circuits this process are beliefs. Not really believing in our power to create what we need but still thinking its "out there" and that we have to search and struggle and get enough of it. Its all in the present moment, so simple but so mind boggling......
